Mobile phone policy

Mobile phone policy

Approach to mobile phone use at Nottingham Girls' High School GDST.

From September 2026, we will operate a completely phone-free school. The current policy is that phones have to be locked away between the hours of 8.30 and 3.40 which is the school day. The new policy means that phone are to be locked away from the minute students arrive on school site and are not to be taken out until after they leave the school site, with stricter sanctions on students who do not follow the policy. However we are working with parents and students to encourage them to leave their phones at home if possible. https://independentschoolmanagement.co.uk/news/the-girls-day-school-trust-bans-mobile-phones
